Our Visitor

We had a visitor today from this cockatoo which seemed quite comfortable with me getting up close enough to take this picture.

I was able to get within one metre of this sulphur crested cockatoo which sat on the handrail of our patio. It had previously been sitting at the top of a tree in our neighbour’s garden and we thought that he / she may have been the lookout (cockatoo) for a larger group of cockies. But then he came down to our patio and watched as we approached, apparently quite comfortable with our proximity. After a brief conversation in simple ‘parrot talk’ (‘Hello Cockie etc’) he then flew away.
