It’s Nice to Know You Made a Good Choice

It’s always reassuring when you find out that other people agree with the choices that you have made in life and especially as a consumer.

In my consulting work, I used to tell sales people that many buyers read more technical product reports after they have purchased a product than they did before buying it. They want affirmation that their product choice and buying decision was an effective one. This is a psychological need to overcome that syndrome we call ‘buyer’s remorse’.

I received an affirmation ‘in spades’ today when I read that the very influential TIPA organisation (Technical Image Press Association) rated my Pentax K3 camera that I purchased late last year as the best Digital SLR Camera in their expert category. I have always been a Pentax enthusiast and the recent acquisition of the company by Ricoh is now resulting in some very fine equipment.

TIPA is an independent, non-profit organisation comprising the chief editors and technical editors of 29 leading photo and imaging magazines from 16 countries. This year’s winners were selected from new photo and imaging products introduced to the market from 1 April, 2013 to 31 March, 2014.

Coffee Encounters

Over the Haast Pass to NZ’s West Coast

We had about 275 kilometres to travel today but we were not rushed and today’s drive felt very comfortable and relaxed. Perhaps it was the coffee in Wanaka that we waited 20 minutes to get. The young barista in the cafe was working hard and she had our coffees up as fast as she could […]
